Scott Jones Launches “Eleven Fifty” Globally
- Immersion Training for iPhone and Android App Development
Eleven Fifty offers a variety of courses including beginning and advanced iOS and Android development, Apple’s recently announced Swift (http://goo.gl/IVumcE) programming language, Java, .Net, and soon, JavaScript, HTML5, SQL, Ruby, PHP, and Python. The courses will have two primary scheduling options for students - immersive courses lasting two to seven days designed to attract students from all over the world in addition to locals. For strictly local students, eight week courses will meet three nights a week.
All of the courses will have a project-centric approach, focusing on apps that students will build themselves, including apps similar to Tinder (http://goo.gl/dbL0h), Snapchat (http://goo.gl/X4m95), Evernote (http://goo.gl/WXZVG), and others. The thoughtfully sequenced coursework and hands-on methodology are designed to enable students of all experience levels to learn important skills fast.

Many have years of practical real-world experience and successes, including building apps that have ranked in the top ten in their category in the iTunes store and websites that have ranked in the Quantcast Top 50. Qualified students will have the opportunity to apply for Eleven Fifty’s paid “APPrenticeship” Program (http://elevenfifty.com/?page_id=92) upon successful completion of at least one course. The program allows high potential individuals to continue to develop their skills outside the classroom by working on real-world client projects, beefing up his or her resume with contributions to commercially viable apps and websites. Unlike strictly academic offerings, Eleven Fifty teaches the entire work flow of building high-impact, commercially viable products. The APPrenticeship program is designed to enable participants to earn money while continuing to learn more comprehensive skills that should allow them to be successfully hired into more experienced developer roles.
