Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang will visit the APEC 2005 IT Exhibition on Nov. 17 with his wife and Hong Kong Trade Minister after arriving in Korea on Nov. 16.

Though Economic Leaders' visit to the IT Exhibition is set for Nov. 18, Mr. Tsang decided to make an additional prior tour on Nov. 17 to take a closer look at Korea's IT in a haste-free setting.

He is expected to make a 30-minute tour of each exhibition section from 11:10 am with his entourage of 10.

Roh Young-kyu, head of the Ubiquitous APEC 2005 task force team of the Ministry of Information and Communication of Korea, will guide Mr. Tsang and his company through the IT Exhibition.

It is notable that Mr. Tsang is accompanied by his Trade Minister. The two are likely to have a significant discussion on IT-related issues for Hong Kong during their tour.

This year's APEC is said to be particularly timely for Hong Kong as it has recently increased investment in the IT industry. In the 'APEC Investment Opportunities 2005', a side event of the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, New World TMT, the telecom, media and technology investment arm of the New World Group, one of Hong Kong's largest conglomerates, signed an investment MOU worth 120 million US dollars with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy of Korea.

Moreover, the 3G World Congress and Exhibition 2005 opened in Hong Kong during the APEC period. The event is a place for many of the world's leading global network companies to show off their new technology such as WiBro and mobile WiMax targeting the next-generation mobile market. Against this backdrop, the trial service of the world's most advanced WiBro here at the IT Exhibition appears to carry particular significance to Mr. Tsang.

Hong Kong has demonstrated a keen interest in experiencing Korea's advanced IT during this year's APEC. Twenty nine corporate CEOs from Hong Kong attended the APEC CEO Summit, a get-together of movers and shakers of the global IT industry.
