Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria will make a state visit to Korea for two days from November 6 at the invitation of President Roh Moo-hyun. The visit is made in response to President Roh's state visit to Nigeria last March. The two leaders will hold a summit on November 6 and discuss ways to cooperate in various sectors, including energy and resources, plant construction and information technology. In addition, relevant ministers of the two countries are scheduled to sign an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation to facilitate bilateral investment and economic activities.

The President is also scheduled to host one-on-one summits with the Republic of the Congo President Denis Sassou-Nguesso, Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Ghanaian President John Agyekum Kufuor, and Benin President Boni Yayi, Wednesday, November 8. The African heads of state will be in Seoul to attend the First Korea-Africa Forum, to be held from November 7 to 10 to mark Korea's participation in African development.

The First Korea-Africa Forum and the visits by presidents of the five African nations are expected to enhance the effectiveness of Korea's diplomacy in the region. President Roh's tour of three African nations in March this year and Korea's Initiative for Africa's Development should also perform an increasingly visible role on the continent.
