Korean and Peruvian presidents discuss economic collaboration
The two leaders expressed satisfaction at the fact that Seoul and Lima have steadily developed friendly ties in all the areas of mutual interest involving politics, the economy and culture since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1963. They also delved into the ways to expedite collaboration in resources, energy, projected bilateral FTA negotiations and other economic and technological exchanges. Peru is the largest recipient of Korea’s Official Development Assistance aid. Since 1991, Seoul has provided US$20 million in grants to the South American country and will be offering US$5.2 million worth of emergency relief items, IT services and medical supplies during this year.
The two leaders shared the recognition that Asia and South America should expand cooperation across the board and that Seoul and Lima should accelerate mutual collaboration accordingly.
