Chicago, IL--(뉴스와이어)--NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital map data for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, announced today that its South Korean office has earned ISO 9001 certification. To date, NAVTEQ has achieved ISO 9001: 2000 certification of all main operating locations

The South Korean certification audit was conducted by KEMA, a leading management system registrar, offering registration to a wide range of ISO and industry specific standards. KEMA auditors interpret the standards, guide customers smoothly through the audit process, and help them make real and lasting improvements in their business.

The South Korean certification follows the recent press event and name change announcement of Picture Map International to NAVTEQ. Among other things, the press event highlighted NAVTEQ’s ongoing quality initiatives in South Korea. In order to ensure the Korean map meets NAVTEQ standards in global quality, NAVTEQ QUEST testing has expanded to Korea. QUEST testing quantitatively measures the accuracy the NAVTEQ database compared to reality. Additionally, NAVTEQ provides technical support and customer program management services to help ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

“At NAVTEQ we are institutionalizing continual improvement in all divisions at all of our locations,” stated Rich Shuman, Senior Vice President Asia Pacific. “The ISO certification of our South Korean facility is representative of our commitment to consistently deliver the highest quality products and services to ensure superior customer satisfaction in the South Korean market.”
