Russell Asia ex-Japan Index: Stocks in Indonesia, Philippines Outperform YTD

SEATTLE--(뉴스와이어)--Two of the top three best performing companies in the Russell Asia ex-Japan Index are based in Indonesia with Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk PT topping the list, posting a 390.2% return year-to-date through December 13, 2010. This was followed by Philippines‘s Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (365.2%) and Indonesia’s Media Nusantara Citra Tbk PT, which reflected a return of 346.4% through December 13, 2010. Among the 10 best performing companies in the Russell Asia ex-Japan Index, four are based in the Philippines.

India‘s Koutons Retail India Ltd was the worst performing constituent in the Russell Asia ex-Japan Index, reflecting a loss of 86.6% through December 13, 2010. This was followed by China’s A-Power Energy Generation Systems Ltd (-72.7%) and Korea's Pyeong San Co Ltd (-71.9%). In fact, eight of the 10 worst performing companies in the Russell Asia ex-Japan Index are based in either China or Korea.
