World‘s First Governors’ and Mayors' Roundtable in Seoul
As a side event of the 6th Global Forum on Reinventing Government, which is co-hosted by the Republic and Korea and the United Nations, the Governors' and Mayors' Roundtable is the first global meeting ever held to discuss regional innovation, and its goal is "to share experiences in regional innovation and to seek international cooperation."
During this event at which the heads of regional governments from around the globe will gather to reinforce and advance friendly, mutual cooperation among them, they will engage in discussions related to "Innovation in local administration and the roles of governors and mayors."
The leaders of local governments will have an opportunity to share with other participants the results of and lessons garnered from their own experiences with innovation. At the same time, it will provide a venue for participants to benchmark the best practices of local governments from other nations.
Within the topic of "Innovation in local administration and the roles of governors and mayors," there are three agendas on which presentations and discussions will take place. These are: "Innovation of local government"; "Regional development through innovation"; and "Furthering international cooperation among local authorities."
Governor Hyon-Wook Kang of North Jeolla Province will deliver opening remarks from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., and Minister Young-Kyo Oh from the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs (MOGAHA) and Mr. Guido Bertucci, director of the Division for Public Administration and Development Management, UNDESA, will each deliver congratulatory remarks, which will be followed by presentations and discussions.
Dr. Carlo Flamment, president of Formez, will give a presentation, which will be followed by a discussion headed by a panel composed of leaders of regional governments (six from Korea and four from abroad).
There will be open discussion as well.

This roundtable is the largest meeting of local government leaders ever held. There will be representatives from 266 regional governments within 27 countries present (92 local governments from 26 overseas nations and 174 regional governments from Korea).

4 regional governments each from Brazil and Mongolia,
3 regional governments from India,
2 regional governments each from the US and Canada,
