Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--The Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs (MGAHA) held a meeting to present exemplary government reforms in 2005.

Prime Minister, Minister and Vice Minister of the MGAHA and some 400 citizens and government officials attended the meeting.

The meeting, held under the subject of “Raise quality of government policy through expanding reform culture,” is intended to confirm achievements made by each minister to realize a participatory government that works and communicates well, thus much trusted.

It also aims to expand reform atmosphere on a pan-government basis.

A total of 16 exemplary reforms were presented by 16 government agencies, which obtained superb achievements in the fields of productivity and service.

The good examples of reform presented were pre-selected by a screening committee comprised of 30 experts from the academy, the press, civic groups, business organizations and political parties.

Delivering a congratulatory address, Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan called up government officials to actively participate in the reform movement, calling for citizens’ cooperation and understanding.

He also stressed that reform in the public society plays a key role in innovating the entire society and without reform nothing is possible, including sharpening the nation’s competitive edge.

The MGAHA plans to publish a collection of the exemplary reforms, holding the same meeting on a regular basis.
