Opening of ‘The 1st ASEAN +3 Ministerial Meeting on Creative Management for Government’

Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--“The 1st ASEAN +3 Ministerial Meeting on Creative Management for Government” will begin its session in ASEM Hall, COEX, Seoul hosted by H.E. Mr. Oh Young Gyo, the Minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs, Republic of Korea for the mutual cooperation and sharing of the government administration model.

“The 1st ASEAN +3 Ministerial Meeting on Creative Management for Government” was firstly proposed by H.E. President Roh Moo-Hyun, Republic of Korea, in ASEAN +3 Summit (’04 November).

ASEAN +3 Ministerial Meeting on Creative Management for Government is a permanent meeting attended by the Ministers related to the government reform from the ASEAN member countries and People’s Republic of China, Republic of Korea, and Japan. In the meeting, the measures to enhance the competence of respective governments in East Asian region will be mainly discussed.

In this Meeting,

Ministers responsible for the government administration including H.E. Mr. Do Quang Trung, the Minister of Home Affairs, Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Suranand Vejjajiva, the Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, Thailand, H.E Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, the Ministers in the Prime Minister office along with H.E. Ong Keng Yong, ASEAN Secretary General will be attending the meeting.

For the better mutual understanding among the countries in this region, Republic of Korea (by H.E. Mr. Oh Young Gyo, the Minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs), Vietnam (by H.E. Mr. Suranand Vejjajiva, the Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office), and Thailand (by H.E Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, the Ministers in the Prime Minister office) are scheduled to present the vision, strategies, and practices of the public administration.

At the same time, various multi-lateral and bi-lateral cooperation program such as Government Administration Network for East Asian Region will be discussed and the Government of Republic of Korea will propose the establishment of ASEAN +3 E-Government Center and the education and training program through OECD Asian Centre for Public Governance

Prior to the Ministerial Meeting, for the effective proceeding of the Ministerial Meeting and discussion on working level, “The 1st Senior Officials Meeting on Creative Management for Government” will be held on 25 May.
