Russell Global Indexes: Asia Outperforms Emerging Markets in Second Quarter of 2011

SEATTLE, WA--(Korea Newswire)--The Russell Asia Index reflected a 0.4% return in the second quarter of 2011, outperforming the Russell Emerging Markets Index (-0.7%) for the same time period. Growth stocks bested value stocks as the Russell Asia Growth Index (0.6%) and the Russell Emerging Markets Growth Index (-0.4%) outperformed the Russell Asia Value Index (0.3%) and the Russell Emerging Markets Value Index (-1.3%) in the second quarter of 2011.

Year-to-date, both the Russell Asian Index and the Russell Emerging Markets Index have posted identical returns of 0.8%, with the Russell Asia Growth Index (1.8%) outperforming the Russell Asia Value Index (-0.1%) and the Russell Emerging Markets Value Index (2.5%) showing higher returns than the Russell Emerging Markets Growth Index (-0.2%) through July 11, 2011.
