SUNNYVALE, CA--(Korea Newswire)--Cortina Systems, Inc. (Cortina), delivering innovative technologies that link people and networks worldwide, today announced that Opnext, Inc. has selected the Cortina™ CS604x and CS605x family of 10G/40G and 100G Transport processors for Opnext's next generation optical transport subsystems. The Cortina CS604x and CS605x devices are the latest generation of OTN Processor families supporting aggregation, mapping, and transport of 10G, 40G, and 100G signals. With integrated jitter attenuation clean-up PLLs and direct interface to 10, 40, and 100G optical modules, Opnext has developed a highly efficient line card capable of mapping and transporting multi-protocols, including OTN, Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and SONET/SDH.

“Today‘s increasingly competitive marketplace demands high levels of integration and performance, and Cortina is delighted with Opnext’s selection,” said Arun Zarabi, Vice President at Cortina Systems. “We‘re confident this collaboration with Opnext will deliver the high-end solutions that surmount customers’ needs.”

“Opnext is continually pushing the envelope to deliver innovative optical transport subsystems to address the challenges our customers face when managing ever growing amounts of network traffic,” said Jin Hong, vice-president, product line management at Opnext. “Cortina has proven its leadership in the transport ASSP market, and this project will enable Opnext to deliver solutions that support higher-capacity, faster, and more efficient networks.”
