포트 워싱턴--(뉴스와이어)--National Comprehensive Cancer Network®(http://www.nccn.org/index.asp) (NCCN®)는 필수 NCCN Guidelines® 교육 콘텐츠 시간의 성공적인 이수와 함께 NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology(http://www.nccn.org/clinical.asp) (NCCN Guidelines®)를 이해하는 미국 외 지역 의사들을 인정하기 위한 NCCN International Educational Activities Program (NCCN IEAP)을 론칭했다.

NCCN의 CEO인 Robert W. Carlson, MD는 “NCCN은 NCCN Guidelines의 늘어나는 세계적인 영향력과 수요에 대응하기 위해 NCCN IEAP를 론칭했다. 현재 NCCN Guidelines를 활용하는 NCCN.org의 전체 등록 사용자 중 거의 절반이 미국 이외의 지역에서 거주하고 있다”고 말했다.

NCCN IEAP 수료증은 NCCN Guidelines 및 유방암, 직장암, 폐암 및 비호지킨 림프종(non-Hodgkin's lymphomas)과 같은 특정 질병에 대한 일반적인 지식을 보여주는데 사용된다. 종양 유형은 향후 추가될 예정이다.

NCCN IEAP 수료증을 받기 위해서는 NCCN Guidelines 개발에 중점을 둔 모듈을 포함하여 1년에 12 NCCN 교육시간과 최소 4가지 질병 유형에 대한 NCCN 교육 콘텐츠 시간을 성공적으로 이수해야 한다. 이러한 교육 시간은 온라인이나 직접 방문으로 이수할 수 있다. 또한 의사가 상기 기술한 12시간 및 한 가지 종류의 암에 대한 질병 특화 교육 8시간 등 총 20 교육 시간을 성공적으로 이수한 경우 질병 특화 수료증을 받을 수도 있다. 의사가 다수의 질병 특화 이수증에 대한 자격을 받을 수도 있다.

NCCN IEAP 프로그램 요건과 교육 자료는 NCCN Continuing Education Portal(http://education.nccn.org/ieap)에서 볼 수 있으며 이 사이트에 대한 등록이 필요하다.
