Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--Minister of Information and Communication Chin Dae-je delivered 9,947,000 won on Thursday (Aug. 11) to a civic organization devoted to detering Japan from adopting textbooks distorting history.

The money, collected from officials of the ministry and postal affairs office under the ministry’s direct jurisdiction, was in response to a campaign for cash donations for use in advertisement by the Asia Peace and History Education Network.

The network has launched a 1 billion won fund-raising drive to take out advertisements in leading Japanese newspapers appealing for Japanese authorities not to adopt school history and civics textbooks produced by the Fusosha publishing house. The Fusosha textbooks are notorious for distorting of Japan’s history with its neighbors.
