Digia Announces Qt Developer Days Asia
- Qt penetrates the Asian markets with the flagship Qt Developer Days event in local languages
- Events to be held in Beijing and Tokyo, week commencing 19 May
Qt’s popularity has been gaining in the Asian markets in the past year with a large following coming from Chinese-speaking countries and Japan. The introduction of Qt for Android and iOS in December 2013 has clearly set the path for hundreds of thousands of cross-platform and mobile developers in these Asian markets to standardize their development strategy on Qt.
“The Asian market is extremely important for the overall growth and adoption of the Qt technology. Last year’s successful Qt Developer Day Beijing with over 400 attendees was a clear indicator that the Chinese-speaking market is hungry to learn more about Qt. We have seen a tremendous commercial demand from Japan in the industrial automation, consumer electronics and robotics sector where Qt is used by leading companies in these industries. Our goal is to nourish the Qt ecosystem in Asia and foster growth via the Qt Developer Days Asia events,” says Tommi Laitinen, SVP, Digia, Qt.
Qt’s ability to help create compelling applications with rich graphics and velvet-like animations and then deploy them across multiple platforms with ease has led to it being used by over 500,000 developers worldwide. Anyone targeting desktop, embedded or mobile platforms - or, most likely, a combination of these - will recognise the benefits of being able to develop quickly and then deploy to other platforms simply by recompiling. This allows users to meet the twin aims of reducing time to market and maximising return on investment.
Qt Developer Days Asia will include keynote speeches from Tommi Laitinen, Digia SVP on Qt and Digia’s future strategy, and Lars Knoll, Digia, Qt CTO and Qt Project Chief Maintainer focusing on the current status and planned roadmap for Qt. The two parallel tracks of technical sessions will cover Qt 5.2, Qt Quick and the Qt Creator integrated development environment, plus introductions to development for Android and iOS mobile applications.
Registration for Qt Developer Days Asia will open at the end of March. To register your interest in the events, please visit http://qt.digia.com/jp or http://qt.digia.com/zh-CN/.
