PyeongChang--(뉴스와이어)--The two latest Honorary Ambassadors to join the PyeongChang 2014 campaign come from the ranks of the Olympic sports federations of taekwondo and badminton.

Newly appointed Honorary Ambassador Bang Soo Hyun is a Council Member on the International Badminton Federation (IBF), while Moon Dai Won serves on the Executive Board of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF).

The two sports officials were appointed by PyeongChang bid Chairman Han Seung-soo on Thursday. In accepting their honor, they said that in order to contribute to the PyeongChang 2014 Winter Olympic bid effort, they would call upon their broad network and depth of experiences in international sports.

Ms. Bang and Mr. Moon are the two latest Honorary Ambassadors in an elite corps that now numbers 38. These celebrities including 14 non-residents of Korea come from the fields of sports, academia and entertainment, from around the world.

A badminton gold medallist in women’s singles competition at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics, Bang remains fully committed to the sport today, working as a coach for the U.S. national junior badminton team.

A leading figure in the global taekwondo movement, Moon is widely known for being the first Korean to introduce Korea’s traditional martial arts to Mexico. For over four decades, he has been dedicated to expanding the sport across Latin America including Mexico.
