GM Daewoo Makes Quality Its Top Priority
- President and CEO Mike Arcamone emphasizes production quality during visit to Gunsan plant
- Arcamone named honorary resident of Gunsan for his contribution to the local economy
Arcamone made the comments during a visit today to GM Daewoo’s Gunsan plant ahead of the launch of the new Orlando seven-passenger MPV in the first half of next year. He shared with employees his ideas on quality management. He also listened to the opinions of employees. This reflects his management style, which encourages positive change centered around GM Daewoo’s production facilities.
“All employees should focus on developing and producing the highest-quality products that our customers want, and enable us to introduce outstanding new vehicles at the right time,” Arcamone said. “GM Daewoo is emphasizing production quality more than ever as our volume increases thanks to soaring demand both at home and abroad.”
Arcamone subsequently had a meeting with the Gunsan’s labor union chapter leader Park Kwang-hyun to request cooperation in securing quality. He also joined employees for lunch in the plant canteen. Arcamone called for the strengthening of the productive relationship between GM Daewoo management and the labor union.
During his visit to the city, Arcamone was made an honorary resident of Gunsan for his support of the local community through the expansion of investment and employment as well as the promotion of social welfare and education. Arcamone was made an honorary resident of Changwon in March and Incheon earlier this month.
