GM Daewoo Reports November Sales of 64,802 Vehicles
GM Daewoo’s domestic vehicle sales in November were the highest this year, rising 8.3 percent from sales of 11,589 vehicles last month. This was primarily the result of strong demand for the Matiz Creative, the 2011 Lacetti Premiere and the Alpheon luxury sedan.
Sales of the Matiz Creative surpassed 5,000 units for a third consecutive month, bolstered by its best-in-class safety and the arrival of the Pink Matiz Creative. The new model year version of the Lacetti Premiere proved popular due to its improved performance and fuel efficiency. The Alpheon, GM Daewoo’s newest model, once again registered a rise in domestic sales in November with the arrival of a 2.4-liter model. The luxury sedan was sold 1,741 units jumping up 35.5 percent from 1,285 units last month and is uprising as a representative luxury model in domestic market.
“We are pleased with the ongoing growth in domestic demand for the Lacetti Premiere and Alpheon. In addition to our great products, we have benefited from popular sales promotions such as the Best Residual Value Guarantee Program,” said Ankush Arora, GM Daewoo Vice President of Sales, Service and Marketing. “As a result, GM Daewoo expects to maintain our sales momentum in the final month of the year.”
The automaker’s exports in November were up 23.1 percent from 42,438 vehicles exported in the same month of 2009. In November, GM Daewoo also exported 94,220 complete knockdown (CKD) kits of parts and components to be assembled into vehicles.
For the first 11 months of 2010, GM Daewoo recorded total sales of 680,305 vehicles. This was an increase of 32.8 percent compared to the same period last year. Domestic vehicle sales during this period totaled 111,417 vehicles, while exports reached 568,888 vehicles.
In the first 11 months of the year, GM Daewoo also exported 987,370 CKD products. This represented an increase of 13.8 percent from the same period last year.
