SEOUL--(Korea Newswire)--GM Korea Company invited its employees and their family members from its operations in Bupyeong, Gunsan, Changwon and Boryeong to participate in yesterday’s GM Korea Family Day during the Month of the Family.

The event celebrated the successful market entry of the Chevrolet brand, which was introduced along with the new company name in Korea in March. It also promoted a win-win relationship between the labor union and GM Korea management. About 30,000 employees and family members across Korea participated.

The activity emphasized teamwork. It included athletic competitions (soccer, foot volleyball and group jump rope), a family talent show, an event zone for children, performances by singers Park Sang-min and LPG, recreational games, and a lucky draw for people of all ages to enjoy.

“Today is a special day, as it is the first time that our employees and their families have gathered together since the launch of GM Korea,” said GM Korea President and CEO Mike Arcamone, who played in the friendly soccer match. “Through Family Day, we are able to show our teamwork under our new company name, and at the same time, celebrate our employees and their families for all of their hard work that they make to ensure the company’s future success,” He said.

He added, “Chevrolet has made a successful market entry through the unified passion and efforts of GM Korea employees. Chevrolet products have been warmly welcomed by our customers. l hope all employees will continue to strive for perfect quality in our new Chevrolet lineup.”

Meanwhile, President Arcamone has continuously upheld his communicative management with employees since his inauguration by participating in a soccer game as a player every year. In particular, he practices communicative management with an all-executive meeting at the Bupyeong, Gunsan Changwon Boryeong plants as he holds information sessions explaining the company’s business environments, plans and future vision during the first and second half of the year.
