GG21, New Paradigm in LBS : the Sharp-Sharp(##) Open Search

Daejeon--(뉴스와이어)--A venture company in Korea developed the new ‘Sharp-Sharp(##) Open Search’ engine for the internet map service based on the ‘ePosition’ technology. It seems to generate a new paradigm in the location based service(LBS), which can search the location of a point of interest(POI) from the multiple distributed Web server providing the ePosition service and display it on the map.

GG21 Co., Ltd.(CEO Sang Zee Lee Ph.D, www.gg21.co.kr ) located in Daeduk Valley in Korea invented the ‘ePosition’ technology 5 years ago, which shows the completely different addressing scheme from the existing one. The form of ePosition is similar to eMail but using # instead of @ symbol, like ‘gg21#egosio.com’. The above ePosition should be uniquely determined and stored on the Web site of www.egosio.com same as the URL address after # symbol.

If the characters ‘gg##’ is entered on the ‘Sharp-Sharp(##) Open Search’ browser( www.egosio.net ), all the Web server providing the ePosition service shall be searched to find out the registered points including the key word ‘gg ’ and the resulting list shall be shown.

The native language in addition to the English can also be supported. For example, ‘낙산사##’ in Korean shall provide the ePosition list including the word ‘낙산사’ even with the different domain name after # symbol as ‘낙산사#이고시오’, ‘낙산사#오마이뉴스’, ‘낙산사의상대#뉴스타운’, and others.

The several internet news sites including www.ohmynews.com, www.newstown.co.kr, www.breaknews.com, www.medipharmnews.com and www.hellodd.com provide the ePosition service to display the map just after the simple clicking the ePosition on news or customer’s comments. The other sites www.ofood.co.kr, and www.joins.com also link the location of the restaurent, hotel and the sight seeing with their respective ePosition.

Sang Zee Lee Ph.D, CEO of GG21, said, “ The ‘Sharp-Sharp(##) Open Search’ service is very easy and effective to search some position even though the customer does not know the domain name after # symbol. Another attractive point is that the ePosition can be searched in real time just after it is registered on any other Web site.” And also he said, “ The ‘## Open Search’ service based on the ePosition technology may be the first customer oriented location based service.”

Any point of interest like facilities on the road, the field, the mountain and even the sea, where the existing address is not useful to identify the exact location, can easily be managed by using its registered ePosition. The location based service for telematics, logistics and other application may not spend so long time to spread out the ePosition with # symbol compared to the email with @ symbol
