SEOUL--(Korea Newswire)--About 15,000 GM Korea employees and family members celebrated GM Korea Family Day at Incheon Munhak World Cup Stadium on May 12. As Korea marks the Month of the Family, GM Korea arranged fun activities for production and office employees and their loved ones.

The annual activity included a variety of athletic competitions such as a shortened marathon, soccer and foot volleyball matches, a group jump rope and a relay race, as well as a family talent show, an event zone for children, performances by famous singers, games and a lucky draw for people of all ages.

“Through teamwork and the support of our employees and their family members, GM Korea had many remarkable achievements last year,” said GM Korea President and CEO Sergio Rocha, who played in the friendly soccer match. “Our employees are all champions. They will lead GM Korea to an even brighter future.”

He added, “Chevrolet has established a solid foundation in the domestic market. Its products, including the recently introduced Corvette, have received a favorable response from car buyers. Our employees are committed to delivering world-class quality to our customers.”

Rocha had played in a friendly soccer match four years ago while vice president of Product Planning at GM Korea. Starting with the candid communication with employees during yesterday’s Family Day, he plans to hold information sessions with employees at GM Korea’s Bupyeong, Gunsan, Changwon and Boryeong facilities on a regular basis to explain the company’s business environment, plans and vision.
