SEOUL--(Korea Newswire)--GM Korea signed a fair trade and shared growth agreement today with its business partners, including its five domestic dealers and the GM Korea Automobile Dealers Association (GADA), at its Chevrolet Bupyeong Joongang Agent in Incheon. The agreement will help increase sales of Chevrolet vehicles in Korea.

Among the 60 attendees at the signing ceremony were GM Korea President and CEO Sergio Rocha; GADA Chairman Younglin Yoon; the heads of GM Korea’s five dealers: Samhwa Motors President Youngkyoon Shin, Aju Motors President Heesung Lee, SS Auto President Wontae Kim, Speed Motors President Saejin Kwon and Daehan Motors President Youngho Cha; and Congressmen.

GM Korea and its partners will establish self-regulatory fair trade rules for mutual growth in the area of sales throughout cooperation. The parties will support the dealers’ sales agents by sincerely observing fair trade rules, making improvements for healthier profit structures, executing sales promotions and the enhancement of the sales environment, developing support programs, modifying the standard for evaluating the business of agents, and building a support plan for agents in 2014 based upon a business evaluation in 2013.

Leveraging Chevrolet’s global standards, the partners will create the Committee for Shared Growth. This new organization will meet regularly to discuss important issues impacting sales agents, including business targets, facility and personnel standards, sales and sales activity standards and procedures, evaluation and reward programs, and support and operating policies.

“Today’s agreement between GM Korea and our business partners is an example of our great relationship,” said Sergio Rocha. “By working together, we can strengthen our overall position in the domestic market.”

“This agreement is the starting point for GM Korea, its dealers and agents to unite and establish mutual targets,” said Younglin Yoon. “The globally recognized Chevrolet brand will create synergies and grow in the domestic market so long as all of the partners understand and carry out their roles and responsibilities.”

Since January 2010, when it adopted a multi-dealer sales system, GM Korea has been selling vehicles through 293 agents nationwide that have signed agreements with GM Korea’s five dealers. The agents have 3,208 Chevrolet sales personnel across Korea.
